Built Nv5600 by SuperStick and triple disk will always be my favorite towing. Heat kills autos and it’s hard to trust electronics. On top of finding someone to give you a good trans tune.

I prefer a manual but I also understand your point there to and if I was gonna build a toy prolly automatic now building a work truck or something to drag a heavy trailer I want a stick

If your building a race truck or a truck that’s gonna be fast you get an auto I hate automatics but I’ll admit they hold the power a lot better and keep you in the boost but if your just on a tune and

If I can’t have a manual, I want a ratchet shifter.

I watched this whole thing hoping to learn something but noooo. you didn't even touch on temperatures, or efficiency losses.

My v10 with a zf5 pulls better than my friend 7.3 automatic because ones that clutch is engaged the power don’t get lost in the transmission

stock for stock a manual can hold more power but in a diesel you have to spool the tubo every shift so I agree an auto is better especially for a race but a manual can hold it reliably

Anyone that runs any big power knows that the autos will always run that game. But you lost me at Allison lol

Car manuals can take abuse but not the torque of the diesel, truck manuals can take the torque but not the abuse

Before anyone says it; the bigger truck manual trans have two countershafts. Always wanted to CAD design a light duty the same

oilfield we'll put to the test any transmission.
Before the manuals went by by permanently, they held up better tote heavier, then the automatics

I get what you're saying, but your axles only have a single point of contact between two gears and most transfer cases are a chain drive.

A)its not the gears that strip in a manual 99% of the time its the syncros B) manual transmission at the wheels will make more power accelerating because in an auto theirs a .8:1 reduction until the-

While you aren’t wrong, there’s >1000hp pulling trucks running stock zf6/nv56, and that’s plenty enough for me and 99% of the rest of the population. Also 4r100’s we’re actually good just keep em cool
