Get a 2x4 fasten it to the studs across the length than mount the bracket to the 2x4. Being off center would drive me insane.

Cut two 24” pieces of 2x4 and mount to studs. Then center the tv mount and mount to the 2x4’s! Tv is centered and connected to studs! Problem solved.
