since prisons make inmates pay for everything, I'd say let them work on a voluntary basis, but pay them fairly. they are forced to work for free, and still have to buy necessities.

Or, hear me out. You pay them fair wages for the work but the money owed is required to be kept for court costs and restitution, rather than the taxpayer picking up the bill.

OK pay them fairly. But charge them room and board fairly also. And as there is a over crowding problem at prison by the laws of supply and demand the rent would be high.

so yes and no, we will not hire people to clean their blocks, showers, toilets etc. Nobody should make money off of the labor. Voluntary- Yes, Paid- absolutly not

He’s twisting words. Inmates are also forced to manufacture goods for for-profit companies. Furthermore, slavery is preserved through the 13th amendment to the US Constitution.

It’s slavery. Those prisons get plenty of funding. They can afford to pay people to do these jobs. They’re only using slaves because it increases their profits.

People in prisons have a free home, free food, free medical, free clothing, etc. They are not indentured servants, they are working for their keep.
