Ep11: Part 1, Pink in 2023. As a Ken, my job has been ‘Government’ for a decade. I’ve seen a lot…including the continued rise of phenomenal women to serve as United States Senators, the appointment of two female Supreme Court Justices, the first woman to be nominated as a major party candidate for President, and the election of this country's first female Vice President. There’s no question we have taken major strides toward equal representation…but it’s abundantly clear we have farther to go. Women still don’t receive equal opportunities as their male counterparts. For instance, even though women make up about half of the entrepreneurs in the country, they only receive 2.1% of the overall venture capital funding…and as of 2022, women on average still earn 17% less than their male counterparts. We see gender disparities in our healthcare system as well–studies show that about 30% of women experience dismissal of symptoms from their providers, and less than 35% of women report receiving any kind of pre-menopausal information. The inequities go on and on. Whether leading on maternal health issues or being one of the top Senators in nominating women to the Service academies; I'm proud to work on and even help lead many different issues that affect justice and equality for women. A lot of this work is done by my staff, consisting of some extraordinary young leaders. I love how they reveled in what is

As my 10th anniversary year continues I am excited to continue this extraordinary work... and to wear the pink tie they got me for our staff outing to see Barbie. #theyearofthebarbiemovie
