This vessel is built by Trefjar here in Iceland and was delivered in 2022. It has a 390 KW main engine and two 96 KW generators. The vessel has 16” bow and stern thrusters which are connected with the autopilot and can keep the vessel on a perfect course in any weather, making hauling the line much easier. Picture 2 shows the bridge in the dark, which is quite nice, I must say. Picture 3 displays all controls concerning the deck, hydraulics, high-pressure power washers, lights inside and outside, as well as touch screen panels for the slush ice machine, sea water cooler for the bleeding tub, anti-roll tank built into the hull, and port and starboard ballast tanks, each with a capacity of 5.5 cubic meters. In Picture 4, the storage room located behind the door in Picture 2. In the left corner, there is the control panel for the anti-bacterial spray system that sanitizes the whole deck and fish hold automatically. Picture 6 showcases the deck, with the bleeding tub on the left. It takes the fish about 15 minutes to go through. To produce the highest quality product, there is a newly installed sea water cooler that runs into the bleeding tub instead of just the ocean water, which can vary significantly depending on the season. Picture 7 shows the lines hauler, and behind that are four screens with the Olex survey and mapping system, known for having the best seabed charts for fishing in Iceland. Next to that, there is a real-time ocean current monitoring system, which is a game-changer when hauling lines, especially in strong tide conditions. Additionally, there we have Linetec, which shows the tension on the line hauler in kg, the speed of the hauler, the length of line hauled, the number of magazines, and the number of fish caught on each magazine, as well as the total fish caught over the whole set. Furthermore, there is a screen with cameras all over the deck for safety, along with a few cameras in the engine room for emergencies like blown hydraulic hoses or, in the worst case, a fire in the engine room. Picture 8 shows the fish hold, which is 47 square meters and can hold roughly 20 tonnes. Picture 9 shows our fishing line, with around 34,000 hooks on 35 magazines, that take about 2 hours to set and 10 to haul. Picture 10 the 390 KW Doosan main engine. Picture 11 shows the port-side generator. We have two Doosan 96 KW generators, but we only need to run one. We rotate them monthly, but it is essential to have the other as a backup in case one breaks down to avoid affecting our fishing operations. Picture 12 shows the starboard generator. The main engine is located between them on another level. Additionally, the fire suppression system is visible in the top left corner, located in multiple places in the engine room. Picture 13 shows the slush ice machine and the sea water cooler. We use slush ice on the fish in the fish hold to ensure the highest quality product. Picture 14 shows the electrical box and touch screen controls for the slush ice and sea water cooler. Picture 15 shows the slush ice machine at the bottom and the sea water cooler at the top. Picture 16 shows the 1,000-liter lubrication oil tank and pump on a rail, eliminating the need to handle oil cans or drums during engine oil changes. We also have 1,000 used oil tanks, which makes everything much cleaner when it comes to oil changes. Picture 17 cable management on point, showcasing the professionalism of the Trefjar boat builders. Pictures 18-19 show the hydraulic fluid tank and hydraulic system, which are highly accessible and easy to work on. Picture 20 shows the used oil tanks and the lubrication oil tank, with the air compressor hidden there in the back behind them. Picture 21 shows the fresh water heating tube, which works instantly, just like the water in a tap at home. Picture 23 shows one side of the workshop. Thanks for reading if you made this far 😁😁 #comercialfishing #longline #fishing #boattour
