24 years, Mama. 24 years ago today i got the phone call that changed my life forever. I was just 12 and I lost the most Important person in my world. Life has never been the same since. All these years I often find myself wondering what life would've been like, how much you would've adored your grandchildren and them, you. All the memories we would've made. Instead I'm stuck with the questions of what if? What if you were strong enough to leave? What if you chose a different path? What of we were enough for you to have stayed around longer. I can't focus on that too much though, it breaks me every time. But I know you did your best and I would in this lifetime and the next, still choose you to be my mum. I don't have many memories, but I have enough to cherish and remember you by. I only choose to remember the good. You made me the strong woman I am today, and I've done it all for you and my babies. God I wish you were here. So many times I've needed you, even for the littlest things or a simple hug from my mum. You were the strongest person I knew. And had the kind of energy that would make the darkest days brighter. You definitely passed that onto me.
