@tonymormino: Sometimes it’s heartbreaking that it takes a crisis to bring us together. In times of disaster, all the noise fades away. Politics, differences, and complaints are silenced, replaced by people just wanting to help each other. I almost wish every community could experience this—not the hardship, but the powerful lesson of putting aside the small stuff to work toward something bigger. During the flood, we saw this firsthand. We helped clean up our church, then moved to the next place, and then the next. Just people, side by side, doing what needed to be done.
