There is good care agencies , I work at one, but the elder or disabled individuals stay in their own homes (where they can put up ring cameras or whatever other types) so families can check in at all

Honestly, you have to show up daily to keep your eyes on your parent. I was told that when they don’t know when you will pop up they treat your parents so much better. That’s just wild.

The best thing to happen is these private companies are struck off! Me and my mum are selling our houses to buy a larger house we can live in together- In UK they’re charging £2-2.5 thousand a week, yes a week! Yet the care given is appalling- often by people not of our culture and language! Make them pay by not using them!

I retired early to care for my Mom to keep her from going to nursing home. Mom was always at her right mind. When hospitalized she told me what nurses were mean when I left, I made reports.

There are often not enough family to help. When spouse is frail and elderly they can't do it. Children live scattered in different places and still work jobs. And, dementia can be aggressive.

All nursing homes are not bad my brother wife put him in a nursing home and they took care of him of course a family member was there everyday to make sure of that.
