@thetimes: Why is Pennsylvania so important? The winner of Pennsylvania will go a long way to deciding who will win the presidential election in November. With the parties neck and neck in the polls, the state is where Donald Trump and Kamala Harris have been spending a lot of their campaigning time. Early voting has already begun in several places — the result in 43 of America’s 50 states is already virtually set. Each of them is expected to be won easily by either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump. This leaves seven “swing states” — Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Georgia and Pennsylvania — up for grabs. They each represent a portion of the total of 538 electoral college votes; the winner needs a simple majority of 270. Pennsylvania, with its 19 electoral college votes, is the biggest prize.
