They make it sound like it's so easy to get this money as well. A colleague of mine was denied PIP even though they could hardly walk because they were able to hold an articulate conversation 1/2

The majority is to cover the rent. Of rent wasn’t ridiculously high then her benefits wouldn’t have to be as high. As well as the mentioned wages issues. I should be paid a lot more for what I do. 😅

I had my leg amputated and it costs me roughly £1k a year just mobility aids, let alone anything else. People don’t realise how expensive being disabled is.

Thank you for talking about this. I am disabled and can't work anymore. I don't qualify for benefits. I have no life, I'm mostly housebound, my elderly mother has to look after me, on her tiny pension

I understand when people actually DO need the money and are entitled to it, but there's also the people who could work office jobs but choose to go on benefits because they'll earn more.

Pip is super hard to get, I’m trying to get it for my hidden disabilities but just cuz “I can my makeup and wash my hair” I have been denied before years ago 😒

What I don’t get is that in the article there was a woman on £150k who didn’t get child benefit and free childcare and everyone was “that’s so unfair, £150k isn’t THAT much” 🤦♀️

My mum was unable to work due to her disability when I was a child (although thankfully she can now), and more than once she’s said that if she had to deal with the DWP as they are today (+)

another big problem is actually trying to find work as a disabled person! I'm autistic and been job searching for 2 and a half years but no one will hire me because they don't wanna deal with me 🙄💔
