Haunted museums are the best, don’t you think? Unique in their own ways, these three New York museums have one thing in common—the fact that they’re haunted! But what makes these places so haunted? Let’s dive in a little more about them below! The Palmyra Historical Museums in Palmyra, NY is made up of five buildings dedicated to the history of the small Erie Canal town! There’s a General Store with items still left inside original to the 1940s, there’s a print shop, hotel, & more! And each building is said to have a dedicated haunting featuring spirits of former families that resides in the home about the general store, vagrant souls that linger within the hotel area, and even children spirits. Those who’ve investigated have reported claims of objects moving by themselves, voices and footsteps being heard when no one is around, and more! The Dunkirk Lighthouse and Naval Museum in Dunkirk, New York is a small museum dedicated to the historic lighthouse, the keepers it had, and to military history. The upper floor of the Victorian home serves as the Military Museum while the lower half is dedicated to the lighthouse. This now keeper-less lighthouse still serves the shores of the southern portion to Lake Erie and may have a few ghosts still tending to duties. Some believe they’ve played with the spirits of children who reside here, and others have heard the sound of a keeper in the tower as if he was checking on the light. Buffalo, New York’s Iron Island Museum may just be this city’s most haunted location. What had once been a small church then turned funeral home had renovated in the early 2000s as a museum after it was donated to the small railroad town. In the mix of changing hands, the funeral home left behind remains, and some believe that only added to the haunting here. Many have witnessed shadow figures lurking around every corner and hearing the whispering coming from rooms no ones in. Therese also been reports of a grumpy male spirit residing in the attic and something not so pleasant in the basement… So, which one have you added to your must see list? #newyork #museum #stepoutbuffalo #westernnewyork #haunted #paranormal #hauntedhistory #hauntednights #xplr
