@rickyhodged: Hey yall. Go with me as I go to work. I do hair. A lot of hair. I enrolled in cosmetology school at 36 and I’ve been behind the chair since. I love my profession. I’ve gotten to the point in my career where I’m able to charge the price I want, work the days and hours I want and I didn’t need a first place trophy to do that. Winning a color contest doesn’t give you validation. Most people who sit in your chair have no idea what a color shot award is or even care. The validation you need are the clients who sit in your chair every 4-8 weeks. That’s your validation. And, if you’re so booked your clients can’t get in and you’re working on your days off and passed your time you wanted off just to get clients in then that is your sign to raise your prices. If your clients find value in your skill and talent then they will pay. With that said, raising your prices because your co-worker raises theirs does not mean you’re ready. If you raise it before you’re ready your schedule and pocket book will reflect it. Anyways, thanks for being here for my @ted Talk 🙏💙🪲 Profile pic 📸 @femme_flora . . . . . #grwRICKY #GRWM #OOTD #mensfashion #mensstyle #menshair #HAIRCUT #scissorovercomb
