I personally think that once it is in your system that it is easier to schedule everything in. I understand when you start running and/or strength training that it can be very overwhelming to schedule everything, so here are my top tips. FULL BODY DAYS 💪 During my marathon training, I often did full body days. This meant I had to plan fewer days for the gym and was easier to spread out in my week. Even now when I have a busy week I just schedule full body days instead of separate workouts for separate muscle groups. PLANNING ✍️ Combining running and strength training can contribute positively to your goals, but if you plan incorrectly it can also be difficult. Legday before a tempo/interval run is never a good idea.... Therefore, plan strength training before or after a recovery/easy run. This makes it less stressful on your legs. I also noticed that the longer I combined running and strength the more my muscles started to get used to it. So just give it a little bit of time! Also, you can combine running and strength, as an example: drive to the gym do your run from there and then do your strength training or do your running training on the treadmill DISCIPLINE & MAKING TIME ✅ "I work 40 hours a week how am I supposed to do that?" Same girl same... at the moment I also work 40 hours a week and sometimes it's not easy to find the motivation, but that's what discipline is for. I don't always have the motivation to train either, but sometimes you have to put that aside and not think and go. Be smart about scheduling and making time. Go before work or just go right from work. Often if you couch at home first, it's super hard to go after that. Therefore, take your stuff to either work out before work or go right after.
