Update: SIL and BIL couldn’t agree on a name so baby went home nameless. bIL ended up naming him Jordan Ali. SIL wanted a girl and having a boy depressed her. She hasn’t found out what OP did yet.

Happened to my mom but my Mom still went ahead and named me that name. One of her friends stole my first and middle name. The husband has said to my mom “oh yeah you named your daughter after ours.”

Made the mistake of telling my SIL my favorite baby name (many times)I was holding onto as we are hoping to adopt. She had a baby and used that name. 🫠 I can’t imagine being that vindictive.
