Jose was so sick in the mind, that he would make Erik & Lyle go against each other and fight each-other, to see who was the stonger person, and who was big and strong enough to hold the title of being a ‘Menendez’. Because of this, Lyle & Erik were not as close when they were children because of the conflict they had with each other, which their father imposed on them. Obviously the brothers still loved & cared for each other, but in their early years if childhood they were very distant and not as close. As the brothers got older, they became EXTREMELY close… They were all they had, was each other. They were going through war together… A lot of them time, Lyle would protect his little brother Erik.
