@jamesbakercpa: If you're a non-resident looking to open a bank account in the US, here are the best options and how to get started: 🏦 1️⃣ Mercury Bank: Perfect for business owners. Open an LLC and use Mercury, a fintech company with FDIC insurance backing. It’s ideal for those looking to grow their business without visiting the US. 2️⃣ Relay Financial: Another excellent choice for LLC owners. I personally bank with Relay and love their tools for business growth. They make it easy for non-residents to manage their finances. 3️⃣ Charles Schwab: For those who prefer a personal account without opening an LLC, Charles Schwab offers international accounts. You can open one without visiting the US, but you’ll need a larger deposit, typically around $25,000. 4️⃣ Big US Banks: You can fly to the US and open an account with Chase, Bank of America, or Wells Fargo. You’ll need a US proof of address (like a residential lease with a family member) and your passport. Having a US bank account can be incredibly beneficial, especially if you're from a country where banking is less reliable. If you need help setting up an LLC, opening accounts, or working with a private bank, DM me. I’d love to assist you! 💪🏼 #taxes #internationaltax #cpa #accountant #taxconsultant #IRS #taxreturns #investing #llc

False, the first thing Mercury will ask is a US phone number, as non resident that’s not easy to get.

I tried opening an account at bank of America and chase. They require a social security number which non residents don't have. I opened an account at TD bank with the proof of address and passport.
