You’re not supposed to eat raw ground beef. Raw steak, sure. But not burger meat. Bacteria is folded in.

they do raw ground beef in Germany also but I was told they had better meat processing techniques that wouldn't allow the same amount of bacteria as the US

I am Syrian. We have Kibbeh nayyeh - raw ground round with spices and wheat. Served with browned onions and pine nuts. Delicious.

Actually this is old school German. It’s called Gehactes. They have been doing this for centuries (minus the pepperjack) which probably makes it slamming. I serve it to my older Germans all the time.

From NJ. Went to college in WI. My roommate's family introduced me to this at a bar. I tried it to be polite and damn was it good! I still eat this but only ground beef from a locally sourced butcher.
