Having flown that flight back when US airlines did it can say that’s not the only route . Tracking as far north as the NP.

That flight path is nearly straight, but you have to bring a globe to see it, not a map like this.

I had to fly from Chicago to Hong Kong every few weeks. 15 hours one way. You finish your 4th movie and you are still 5-6 hours away

Took this flight 7 years ago, complete with a full 5 hour departure delay at Newark Airport while UAL had to replace the aircraft due to mechanical problems and also the crew due to the long delay!

Isn’t the shortest distance between two points a straight line? Why do they go north then back south? Only makes sense on a flat earth..
