@gin.ah.tonic: picking a home base as a digital nomad 👇 1. THE COMMUNITY IS EVERYTHING. I look for a group with similar hobbies and schedule so after a full day of work we all meet up for dinner or some sort of social activity. It’s much easier to stay in an area for a period of time to create these connections especially with other digital nomads or expats 2. STABLE WIFI!! This is a must. I could honestly go without the rest for a period of time but as a digital nomad you really need reliable internet. I need at least 80 mbps for a productive working day 3. SCENERY bc why else am I digital nomading if I can’t look outside and enjoy the beauty of where I am?? 4. Good COFFEE SHOPS where I can put on my headphones and just pump out work. My favorites are the hidden gems with a lot of natural lighting and less tourists. 5. It must be in CLOSE PROXIMITY or at least 15 minute walk max to the main area, grocery store, restaurants, AND coffee shops otherwise I’m wasting time. Especially for work emergencies, being able to run and grab my computer within 20 minutes!! 6. GET OUTSIDE!! Just a nice stroll outside can even be nice after a long day but I love to do things with others like hiking, skating, surfing!!
