Our landlord came before we cleaned on cleaning day my mom was PISSED I had just cleaned my rabbits cage so there was hay fucking everywhere, laundry everywhere dishes weren’t done she had just cooked and we had lunch in the living room and BAM landlord my mother was fucking livid

It is very frustrating for sure, but the reason why they do is bc the longer a unit sits vacant, the more money the complex loses. So they want to get the unit rented asap to minimize loss in profit
