The “not baby proofed” part hit my soullllllll. It’s so stressful having to chase your kids around and ask to close doors, move pictures, block stairs, etc. And nobody takes you seriously!!

Exactly this! It’s so much cheaper AND easier for them to fly/drive to us! Not one single time in 20 years.

I can never understand this type of grandparents - my mum would crawl through broken glass to spend time with her grandson. She still works and STILL comes to visit 2 days a week to help me out

my MIL always telling us to come visit for ridiculous reason. like, how. I have a kid in school, one in kindergarten and a full time job. there is literally *no time* to just visit on a regular day.

Add to it they want us to spend $ on gas airfare etc when we live paycheck to paycheck and rent while they own homes and live comfortably off a pension 😅
