it's the purest form of love u can ever see portrayed ever in history and modern dating doesn't top that with all the new twisted opinions on things. it's not abt self respect or smth similar u can compare to these days. with the life they had in the movie is obviously so well shown how important it was to them to end up together again and get that happy ending they did. they wanted each other over anything else we have today and can prioritize over. that's why its a great movie and true love.
