Hiiii!! Pediatrics!! Pediatric ICU (PICU), I work in a peds CVICU and there’s also neonatal icus! Peds have devices, ECMO, drips, transplants! Very much ICUs

There’s also BMT icu’s! Which are sometimes combined with oncology icu but there are BMT icu’s that are only BMT patients

Neuro/trauma icu!! Really we can get any micu or cv overflow depending on the census but mainly we get the head traumas, patients in status, and strokes

I worked in a medical icu and cvicu and floated to neuro icu. Now I work in the NICU and it’s been the best change ever. Love my babies.

I work in a combination ICU as my hospital only has one ICU. We see it all! Trauma, strokes, open heart, etc.

at my hospital, there’s a CVICU & CCU. The CVICU only gets post op patients from CABG +/- valve surgery & they get ecmo pts.

I work in the smaller hospital in my city so our ICU is medical/surgical and we exclusively handle all the vascular/thoracic/ent type pts along with gen surg stuff!

Small town hospital, we have both ICU and CVICU but we close ICU on low census and put everyone in CV!

What confuses me is like say a patient comes in with both heart failure and kidney failure or sepsis. Would they go to CVICU or MICU? At my work we just have 1 ICU that does it all (small hospital)

our hospital is medium sized. we split the ICU patients up by "triage" . so we have intermediate care unit or IMCU. and then we have ICU. Most ICU patients are intubated and sedated at my facility. abs those that need critical care but are not intubated and sedated are in the IMCU
