The shops start so early and then pack it all up the day after Christmas! Actual Christmas starts on Christmas Day and goes for 12 days! We don’t take our decorations down until the Epiphany (visit from the three wise men on day 12) and some people think I’m keeping decorations up too long as they’ve packed it all away on Boxing Day 🤦♀️🤦♀️. The period before Christmas (Advent) is for preparation- the 12 days period starting on Christmas Day is for celebration. The commercial market has it so wrong and it really ruins it.
