Whenever people ask what I do for a living and I mention that I’m an Apron Controller at Munich Airport (or in German, Vorfeldlotsin), many imagine me as a female marshaller guiding aircraft into parking spots. But the truth is a bit different. As an Apron Controller, my workplace is in the tower, and I give instructions to the flight crew via radio. Apron control is actually a part of Air Traffic Control (ATC). Important Note: At no time was traffic affected or neglected during filming.
