@chasseurdesons: The song of Belugas and the clicks of Porpoises 🐬 I submerged my hydrophone deep into the waters of the St. Lawrence River for several minutes. What you hear in this video is a compilation of the sounds I managed to capture from various marine mammals. In this video, we don’t clearly hear the noise pollution from ships. However, recording in the river was extremely challenging: the noise generated by ship traffic was overwhelming, taking up a significant portion of the spectrogram and often drowning out the belugas’ song. I'm going to make a video on the subject, playing these ship sounds for you. It was my first time using a hydrophone under these conditions, and the experience left a lasting impression on me. Thanks to @dufleuve for allowing me to record the sounds of the whale's breath. This is a project I've wanted to do for a long time, and I was searching for the right company to work with.
