@icorrect_: These two MacBook screen issues may look similar but are actually quite different. The first, commonly known as Flexgate, is caused by Apple making the backlight flex cable too short. The backlight is the component behind the display, and over time, the flex cable gets damaged from repeatedly opening and closing the MacBook screen. This makes the screen appear as if it’s turning off. The second issue, often called Dustgate, is due to dust entering the screen through the bezel, damaging the screen’s flex cables. The display typically returns to normal when the screen is tilted to a slight angle. Both of these faults are repairable without replacing the entire screen. However, one repair doesn’t resolve the other; they’re two separate issues that each require a unique repair. We believe it’s more sustainable to repair the screen rather than replacing the whole unit, as the Apple Store recommends.
