Yep I started off using a frother too but then one day I just happened to use my blender bottle with ice and was like waaait. This actually works much better!

I've used the blender bottle and the frother. I like the frother the best. Move it up and down to the bottom. It looks like a tornado and It turns out perfectly. I do add ice at the end as well.
