I just said each state should award the standard delegates proportional to the vote (ie 60% of the vote gets you 60% of the delegates, some math for ties and viability)

So the government is an epic and each state is a story, but the stories don't all have the same points even though they are all in the same sprint. And different numbers of Devs work on each story.

from what I know, the winner of the popular vote in a state gets most of/all the electoral votes, going off the popular vote would add more confusion and stress with counting tbh

but what if we broke down the buckets EVEN MORE and increased the number of counting threads??? then we can really parallelize it and know the outcome of FUTURE elections because the efficiency

I still need some clarification: let say state x has 20 points, if candidat a gets 60% of votes, do they just get all the state points?

It really surprises me the electoral college votes from each state don’t at least get allocated along the vote split, rather than being entirely for the winning candidate in that state.

Yi Chen Chong6 :
if u wanna parallelize counting u could just map reduce the votes on the bucket instead of 1 bucket 1 point?

Given that the president is federal the electoral college doesn't make sense to me. I like the fact that smaller states have boosted representation in the two houses though, which protects

this is too real! so much pain is foreseen in discovery meetings but it happens anyway, the responsible engineer moves on from their broken system and other engineers pick up the pieces for years

yeah I've been wondering why we don't all just get a push notification, enter SSN/DOB and vote. Further, go all the way to distributed rather than representative democracy. Vote directly on the issues

I find it insane having lived with mixed member proportional system in New Zealand and preference voting in Australia.

I understand the point system by state, but those points should then be allocated by the portion they get (or atleast areas).

the way that in wyoming i believe it’s like 1 EV per 300,000 people and then for Cali it’s 1 EV per 700,000 or something similar….not distributed evenly at all.

Yea what’s the margin is it cause that’s what the margin of victory keeps looking like when it’s added up. Especially since overpopulation has began
