I read primarily within the Romance genre and related sub genres. It blows my mind when fellow romance readers do not understand how political the books are but also how it’s a political act to read

I can't think of a single book that doesn't contain either political or social commentary elements. Whether it's subtle or in your face, it's still there!

The claim "books are political" is so vague I'm not exactly sure what people mean when they say it.
