you eat the pork pie cold because it was what workers used to bring with them. pastry was basically like edible tupperware. I recommend watching early GBBO they explained a lot UK baking history then.

Mate, you made the comment about eating them cold and why they have jelly. Stick them in the oven, gas 5 for 20mins - I’ve not eaten a cold pie in over 25 yrs. Eat them warm and come back to us
