Hello I am 7 cholesterol Qrisk of 3% my GP is pushing Statins at a ridiculous level and it’s stressing me out. I walk just short of 30 miles a week. I am 53 years old slim & bmi is excellent

My husband has high cholesterol but he’s got a vitamin b12 deficiency , he’s been but on injections then tablets, due for another blood test to see if it’s gone down xx

Doctor brought up my high cholesterol during and appointment and said I should be on statins - then proceeded to not prescribe them. Blood test came back pre diabetic - no follow up. Dr doesn’t care.

Surely it’s better to strongly suggest lifestyle changes as i’ve see so many people say once their family members were on this medication they got Alzheimers/dementia 🥺

This is quite an outdated approach to cholesterol. You should be looking at triglycerides and ratio to HDL. Plus the NHS test does not distinguish between the very small low density LDL and the larger less dense LDL. It is the former that is more worrying.
