Basic ingredients 🤝🏼 spectacular dinner #gnocchi #EasyRecipes #pasta #fyp #LearnOnTikTok #italianfood #potatotiktok #pastatiktok Gnocchi: 3 Desiree potatoes (~500g) 1 egg 1 tsp sea salt flakes or a big pinch of regular table salt 1 cup plain flour Sauce: 30g butter Drizzle of evoo 1 can tomatoes (I use pelati and break them up) 1 tsp sea salt flakes 1 tsp caster sugar (or whatever you have in the pantry) Parsley/basil - whatever is in season Parmesan to serve Preheat oven to 170c Prick potatoes and bake them for 45 minutes on an oven tray until tender - check with a skewer. Adjust cooking time depending on the size of your potatoes. Cool slightly. While they are cooling, add all sauce ingredients except your herbs to a pan on medium heat. Place a lid on and simmer while you prep gnocchi. Peel potatoes with a knife (this should be easy now some moisture has cooked out) being careful to not remove very much potato with the skin. Mash or rice potatoes onto a clean surface, add salt and egg, mix. Add flour and carefully mix/lightly knead together, being careful not to overwork the dough. Cut a chunk off the dough ball and roll out to a sausage in some additional flour. Slice 1cm pieces of the sausage to create your gnocchi. Toss in some flour and repeat with remaining dough. Cook gnocchi in boiling salted water for 3-4 minutes, until they are puffy and floating on top of the water. Strain gnocchi and add into the sauce, stir along with parsley. Serve with lots of Parmesan.
