@theshilohfarm: Is fresh food really fresh? 🍎 The average apple you buy at a grocery store is 14 months old 😱 Carrots can be in cold storage for 6-8 months before they get to you 🥕It’s the same with potatoes, which can take between 8-10 months before arriving at your store 🥔Once properly cured, onions can sit in cold storage for a year!! 🧅 On one hand really nice to have all our favorite foods available year-round. On the other hand it’s kind of a bummer we don’t get to experience the best flavors from food that sits in storage for so long.
