@soheefit: HIIT is bad for you because it elevates your cortisol? First of all, cortisol levels rising acutely in response to exercise is completely normal - it’s what should happen. Chronically elevated cortisol levels is the real concern. And even so, it’s not something you really need to worry about with HIIT. HIIT in and of itself is not the reason your body is puffy and bloated. Oftentimes there are a multiple of variables at play, including generally doing too much exercise that leaves you under-recovered. I don’t know a single person who would feel their best doing HIIT daily. No good coach would recommend this. So if you’re doing HIIT all the time and you feel terrible, it doesn’t mean that HIIT is bad; it means you’re doing too much! Alternating lower intensity bouts of exercise with higher intensity bouts is a smarter approach. Let’s stop demonizing perfectly healthy forms of exercise. #HIIT #Cortisol

This is one of the most frustrating things right now - so many people are making crazy claims with no real understanding of physiology or biological mechanisms!

I have PCOS. I've been training for about 7 months, but in the last 2 I started doing two HIIT workouts per week (+ a long run in the weekend). My hormonal health has improved and I'm feeling well!

I really struggle with fatigue and awful heafaches after HITT. Trying to find what the right balance is for me is so hard! I've taken to swimming instead and some controlled weight sessions in the gym

There is also zero chance they actually had their cortisol measured in a meaningful way (if it was measured at all).
