Usually the aluminum part of a Mac, acts like a big heatsink. Are you sure you don’t mess up with the thermals ? I think the best way is to put it upside down but on the desk.

The only reason I got rid of my mac was because it couldn’t run games. I understand thags not what they are made for, but the mac was made in 2018. Is that still the case?
