My 4.5 year relationship ended without a conversation and the story resonated with so many people, I couldn't believe it :') This was the most asked question - I really hope this helps someone, even if it's just one person. ❤️ Most videos in this trend start the day after the breakup, but my video starts 4.5 years before. I knew extremely early on in my last relationship that this wasn’t the person I would spend my life with. Hindsight is always 20/20, but when you’re in the relationship, all you can see is how much you’ve invested, how much you love them, and how badly you want it to work. People close to me kept asking how I “was okay so quickly.” It's simple. Healing is different when you’re grieving the end of something that you've known for a long time that isn't right for you. The biggest lessons I learnt were: • Don’t ignore the feeling that something isn’t right. • Don’t stay just because you’ve already invested years. You'll end up wasting more. • Don’t mistake familiarity for the future you deserve. • People don't change. The biggest thing that helped me heal wasn’t pretending I was okay. It was letting myself cry for a whole week, feel everything, leaning on my family and friends, and accepting that losing the wrong person was never the same as losing the right one. I'm very pragmatic and realistic, so this came easy for me. Sometimes the fastest way to move on isn’t because you loved less. It’s because, deep down, you knew you dodged a bullet. One of the reasons I stayed in the relationship was because I was terrified of being alone. In hindsight, I realised humans are very strong and adapt quickly. I should've learnt to be alone sooner and be happy with myself. i'm rebuilding my life after five years and documenting it, follow along or say hi if you are too 🤍
