Wait yall had money when you started apprenticing? I was 18 and had to skateboard to work everyday. My mentor built me my first machine and had to use the same shit as him eventually 😂

Blue Rider Tattoo Company :
I’ve never charged for an apprenticeship. They buy their own machines, needles & ink, but I supply everything else. Their shop cut is 50%. Plus, a halfway decent machine starts around $500.

I saved a huge amount of money by making my own fake skin. which also helped with different skin tones as I could adjust the foundation I added to it.

It’s definitely different everywhere. My Toolbox, bed, arm rest, chairs all provided. Not paying a rent or percentage until I start tattooing people. All I had to have was my own machine and ink

I’m right at the end of mine, I started out paying 200$ a month for my “apprenticeship payments” and after I got to 2,500 we switched to booth rent which is 400$ a month, my chair and bed were 1/2
