New follower. 🥺 I agree so much with what you say but I’m having a hard time with my husband and the way he speaks to our 24, 22, 17 and what he expects from them. How do I deal with him??? Any tip

I cut my family off when I had kids because I was scared of continuing the cycle of dysfunction. Sometimes I wonder if it was wrong….

My husband needs to see this. His whole family had a fit that we keep wanting our own thing on Christmas. Even after two years since our child was born, all my firsts were stolen. He doesn’t get it.

I didn't have to fix their emotions...just tip toe, very cautiously around them 😕

This probably sounds very strange but in my head, you are my mom. This is my mother. It’s how I always hoped she’d be like.

ABSOLUTELY!! I’m a mental health counselor and THIS can take years of trauma therapy for people who grew up taking care of their parents’ mental health

UGH the guilt I’ve felt over the years. My Dad passed 14 yrs ago, my Mom is very lonely. I felt so responsible 4 her & her happiness but I had my own life a job, family, child I could barely keep up

I’m 47 and my emotionally immature parents in their mid-70s are a real challenge. How do you be respectful and kind when they are controlling and overreact?
