But if great designs did just sell themselves then why do the most successful designers, who have really great designs, all have catwalk shows and promotional events. A great collection without any promotion is like a Ferrari without gas. It might look amazing but it's not going to get you anywhere. What you want to do instead is develop a public relations campaign, a sales and marketing strategy and plan an exciting SHOWCASE LAUNCH to promote your brand well ahead of time. Alexander McQueen, Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, Miuccia Prada, Dolce & Gabbana or any of the top designers don’t JUST rely on instagram. It's just one of many strategies in their marketing tool box. They do lots of showcase events like fashion shows, trunk shows, brand collaborations, on-line launches digital shows, phygital shows, media parties and many, many more exciting showcase events. But all these require different strategies and roadmaps to plan, promote and execute and each of these have different needs to align with sales and marketing strategies, manufacturing schedules, market position, brand and product type. Without a well choreographed showcase to promote your collection (like Jayne Pierson’s London Fashion Week show) you will stay invisible as fashions' best kept secret, wasting time & money Ohhhhh by the way…..
