Through this montage, I wanted to highlight the most romantic and emotional side of Gio Scotti — that unique ability she has to convey so much without saying a single word. Her beauty does not lie solely in her features, but in everything those features seem to tell. Every expression, every subtle movement of her lips, every slight change across her face seems to carry a different emotion. But if there is one thing that particularly captivated me, it is her eyes. There is something almost indescribable about her gaze. It is deep, gentle, mysterious, sometimes melancholic, sometimes radiant, yet always incredibly expressive. It almost feels as though there is something hidden behind that gaze that we can never fully grasp. And that is precisely the feeling I wanted to capture in this edit: the feeling of experiencing an emotion without ever really knowing where it comes from. So I tried to build, solely through Gio’s images and expressions, a sort of little romantic story that has neither a true beginning nor a real ending. A story made more of feelings than of events. The kind of story where you suddenly find yourself smiling without even knowing why. Where a single glance is enough to awaken a thousand thoughts, a thousand possibilities, a thousand questions to which you will probably never find an answer. You get lost in that gaze, you try to understand what you are feeling, and then, almost instinctively, you want to escape all those thoughts… while paradoxically being completely fulfilled by having them. That contradiction is what fascinated me the most: wanting to escape from what is going through your mind while, at the same time, refusing to let go of the feeling itself. Like when someone makes you feel something so unique that you would rather not try to explain it. You simply smile, look once again, and wonder why such a simple moment managed to touch you so deeply. And so, the edit is not really meant to tell a specific story. It is meant to make you feel as though a story exists. A story that everyone could interpret differently, depending on what they feel while watching these images. Her eyes then become the true thread running through the entire edit: they replace dialogue, words, and sometimes even music. They suggest, they question, they reassure, they unsettle. They seem to say something without ever revealing exactly what. And ultimately, that is precisely why the ending of the montage carries so much meaning. After spending the entire edit highlighting the power of her gaze, allowing her eyes to carry the weight of the emotions and building this little story around them, I deliberately chose to hide them at the very end. A choice that is almost ironic, but above all, symbolic. After showing us just how powerful a gaze can be, I suddenly choose to take it away from us. As if, after spending all this time searching for an answer in her eyes, we must finally accept that we were never meant to find one. It is also a way of creating a contrast between what we have just felt and what the final image imposes upon us: silence, absence, mystery. We then realize that perhaps the true power of this edit lies precisely in what cannot be explained. In that gaze that makes us feel something without ever telling us exactly what it is. Because, deep down, perhaps that is what I wanted to show through Gio Scotti: some emotions do not need to be explained in order to be felt.
