@sydney_piercey: Episode 3 of homemade presents for Willow 🎁 A series in which I make homemade presents for my soon to be 5 year old! If there’s one thing Willow loves (asides from flowers and candles that is) it’s a personalised thing. Now I can’t embroider, I can just about sew, but I was determined to find a way to personalise something for Willow, so here’s what I did! It’s such an easy craft, a great way to dye clothes without needing to mordant first. I guess the colour will fade fast (without the mordant). But for a 15 minute make, while my kids were in the bath, I’m pleased with it! And better yet, I know Willow will be even more so. What you will need: A T-shirt Handful of flowers (what flowers I cannot tell you - this was trial and error with what we found on our walk today. The accounts above have glorious content available for ideas!) Hammer An old cloth (that you don’t mind staining) A pencil Instructions: 🌺 Draw your initial (or design) onto your T-shirt 🌺 Place your flower face down onto the T-shirt 🌺 Place your old cloth on top of the flower and hammer until the colour comes through onto the cloth (if this doesn’t happen it’s because your flower isn’t so good for flower pounding - pick another!) 🌺 Once pounded, gently peel off your flower and enjoy your print beneath 🌺 Continue pounding along your pencil line until your design is done! Note: remember to protect the surface you’re working on with something - so the colour doesn’t bleed through! And add protection in between your T-shirt - old newspaper would work- so that the colour doesn’t bleed through onto the back. #handmadegift #flowerpower
