I have five great uncles, all brothers 85 to 99. And I have had relatives who have lived past 100.

All we can is doing the best we can💯 But it requires that you first learn to be honest with yourself. Because are you really doing the best you can and adjusting along the way?

I’ve had the pleasure of treating multiple centenarians as a physical therapist. Many had a Mediterranean diet (not strictly), were well traveled and focused on movement through the decades.

Such a powerful insight. I touched on this same theme in my recent interview. It's clearly a topic that resonates widely.

Sounds cool, but would it even be fun to become a centenarian?

My great grandpa lived to 101. He continued to garden and chop wood until he died. His diet wasn’t anything special.

My granny lives to 98 & did none of that. But I’m paranoid that even if I do everything right I’m not getting close🤷🏽♀️

Thank you. Social bonds are an absolute non-negotiable for both mental and physical health. Exercise, nutrition and recovery are the essence of life.

I have a lot of 95+ in my family and grandmother to 101 who did none of that.. most didnt even exercise. But most did grow up on farm. All were also slightly overweight altho not obese. Most also had large number of children. Grandma had 15 kids! All single births. I imagine that had something to do with it

For me this is pretty surprising because I see people not taking very good care of themselves and still living to 85-90 here in Finland. They are living pretty good but not actually strenghtrain etc

Grandmother lived to 105 and did none of those things. Parents are 90 and 91 and are sedentary and never drink water. Its luck for sure

Correct for the most part. I knew a guy that was super fit. He raced cross country ski races up to age 85. He died at 93 of heart, disease and heart valve problem.
