![🚨Handling a non- apology 👇 🧠 When we raise a genuine concern with someone and are met with a non-apology like “I’m sorry you feel that way it’s nothing personal” it can feel very invalidating and dismissive. 💡This is because they are apologising for how you’re feeling NOT for their actions that led to the feeling. This lack of acknowledgment or accountability for their actions is really invalidating. ▶️ When someone does this you can still keep control of the conversation and maintain an even power dynamic so your concern isn’t invalidated or dismissed. 🚫 Try to avoid reacting emotionally- staying calm keeps you in control and allows you to be assertive. You can say something like “I don’t need you to apologise for my feelings, what I do need you to do is [INSERT BEHAVIOUR] 📌 Please remember the advice offered in this video is generalised and only shows one possible approach.
