But without people willing to go through the training you did, sign for the years you did, take the oath you did, and do the job you did, whatever it may have been, our nation wouldn’t be what it is. Freedom is never free, and you signed a blank check up to the price of your life. You didn’t know where the journey would take you, or if you’d make it out on the other side. God knows some didn’t. But you put yourself on the line and at the mercy of the people of the United States, for better or for worse. However big or small you may think your service was… hey, you did your job.
