The vast majority of cops think it’s silly to make people sign tickets. But, the change has to come from lawmakers / dept admin.

Tickets are signed because you are releasing them with a promise to appear before a magistrate instead of taking them to jail for an offense.

In CO as long as you have a valid ID tickets don’t need to be signed. If they don’t sign it we just serve it lmao.

In AZ, for civil citations (I.e. traffic tickets) no signature is required. Didn’t realize this wasn’t a nationwide thing

I know my state has absolutely no requirement to sign unless afterwards if you gonna plea guilty to the offense on the ticket, which you sign & mail with payment.
