@dadmakesmagic: When your wife says the walls are too boring, you better do something about it Adding wainscoting to a wall adds so much character and before you all go saying that it collects too much dirt, it takes literally 2 minutes to clean one wall with a swiffer Since our walls are tall, we did a 4:1 ratio with a horizontal strip running across. I took the measurements for all the boxes, calculating a 4.5" gap in between each corner and box. After figuring out the measurements I stopped by @homedepot and bought pre cut 1 3/8 primed Finger Jointed base cap trims.
