Do they consider their environment in these studies? Humans tend to add unnatural toxins to their bodies. Smoking, pollution etc... and the mental stressors that have impact on the physical body?

I assume they measure the amount of cancerous cells that actually manage to develop and not just the cells that turn cancerous, but are destroyed by the immune system before they can develop.
