I just got back after two weeks. We did 7 cities in 10 days 😭. Planning out if my hands a bit. Couldn’t do the shipping cause we were moving around too much. It honestly was fine. People were extremely understanding with our luggage and we tried not to go during peak times on the trains if we could help it.

I used it when I was going one-way through a blizzard partially on foot 😂 but otherwise I had no issues - I just brought a carry-on suitcase. Packed light, easy to wash clothes.

One more thing: I left Kyoto for Fukuoka for three nights so I sent my big bag to Osaka Itami airport and they kept it for me until i flew out.

Use an AirTag for more peace of mind. Asked the front desk for our bags & they initially brought out the wrong ones but I knew they made it to the hotel so I didn’t freak out and they found them
