Birth prep workout! Two things we can focus on to prepare for labor: opening up each level of the pelvis and relaxing our pelvic floor. Pelvic inlet is the top of the pelvis and is where baby engages in early labor. External rotation and posterior pelvic tilt can help focus on this. Also releasing the lats and hip flexors. The midpelvis is the middle where baby rotaties. Assymetrical movements help us open up that midpelvis. And the pelvic outlet is what we focus on opening when we are getting ready to push. Focusing on internal rotation or focusing on strengthening the hamstrings, lats, and adductors. And of course focusing on relaxing that pelvic floor leading up to labor! Your uterus pushes your baby out, not your pelvic floor. So we want to be able to relax that PF to help baby have a smoother delivery and help you have an easier time pushing.
